Membership Application

  1. AAO application may be downloaded here or from the bottom of the AAO website www.aaoinfo.org, "Become a member" link. Membership requirements appear on Page 2 of the AAO membership application.
  2. A copy of your application and orthodontic program certificate will be sent to the SAO.
  3. Applications are approved by the AAO Board of Trustees 4 times a year in February, May, August, and November.
  4. Upon election to active membership, you will be also become a member of your constituent organization (SAO). The SAO Bylaws require membership in your component organization. Therefore, once approved by the AAO, membership in the SAO & Component is automatic.
  5. The SAO is notified of approval and in turn notifies your component association.
  6. The SAO will mail a membership certificate to you.
